Fergus Daly joins Harmonic as Head of Business Winning
December 2008
Harmonic is delighted to announce the appointment of Fergus Daly to the role of Head of Business Winning Services. Fergus gained broad experience including strategic buying, commercial and general management before specialising in business winning. Before joining Harmonic he was a bid coach and bid director in QinetiQ's commercial markets, working at the heart of a significant improvement programme in winning business. Throughout he employed best in class tools and techniques, not least the effective tailoring and application of Shipley methodologies, of which he is a great advocate. Fergus' role will encompass both overseeing the effective delivery of assignments to clients as well as innovating and growing the business winning service, particularly through the unique Shipley-Harmonic alliance.
Harmonic Opens New Offices
Harmonic officially opened its extended facilities on 2 October 2008 with Admiral Ward, Director General of the Defence Manufacturers Association, and Lord Cameron of Dillington in attendance.
The new office, part of an award-winning development on the Dillington Estate, reinforces the company's expansion as it takes on an increasing amount of firm price and off-site business.
Tom Samuel, Managing Director, commented: 'the decision to expand our offices demonstrates the company's commitment to providing flexible support to our clients. This additional capacity ensures that we can provide clients with either a dedicated on-site presence or a remote working relationship. Whatever level of support is required we can tailor our services to our client's specific needs'.
Mark Willis has joined Harmonic in the role of Head of Management Services.
Following a very successful 35-year military career encompassing service in the Army and Royal Air Force, Mark entered defence consultancy in 2003 with Frazer Nash to assist in the development of the aerospace and supportability lines of business. Mark moved to HVR Consulting in 2004, just prior to the QinetiQ acquisition, to head up Projects Division and was elected to the HVR Board as Operations Director in February 2006. With the rationalisation of the Board in December 2006, Mark took charge of the Company to deliver challenging performance targets. Moving to join Harmonic in August 2008 as Head of Management Services, Mark relishes the challenge of assisting the growth of the Harmonic business from their high-performing associate-based model into the firm-priced market place. Given the competitive nature of the market today, Mark believes that the Harmonic offering coupled with the Shipley Business Winning partnership possesses the qualities of innovation and robustness to deliver a range of truly impartial and independent technical and management consultancy services.
